Robert was one of the founding members of the team in the fall of 2005. He graduated from Burncoat High School in 2008 and went to Northeastern University where he majored in Mechanical Engineering.
Since graduating from college Robert now works at QD Vision, a nanotechnology company that manufactures quantum dots. We caught up with Robert to see how he is doing.
Years on Team
What are you currently doing?
I am a product engineer at QD Vision, a nanotechnology start up that manufactures quantum dots, a wide color gamut solution for display applications. I focus on color science, data analysis, and experimental design.
How has your experience on the team helped to get you where you are now?
My time with the Reapers definitely nudged me towards a major in mechanical engineering and the hands on experience I got from working on the robot was a huge help when applying for co-op jobs, one of which was at the company I now work for.
What was the most fun part of being on the team?
I would have to say the very beginning of each season when we had first learned the competition. There were countless strategies we could use and even more designs for our robot. Coming up with all of the different (sometimes outlandish) ways we could go about the competition was always a ton of fun.
